Farmhouse details to help you enjoy your stay

Services:

Electricity – the fuse boxes are located in the utility room, however you should not have to make any adjustments to the settings etc. Should there be a problem please contact the Property Manager. Our electrical support lives in Roussines, just down the road.

Water – the main stop tap is located under the sink in the utility room, should there be a leak then please switch off the supply and call the Property Manager.

Butane Gas – is only used for the gas hob. Should the supply run out whilst you are there you will find a replacement container in the far barn. The containers are standard fixings and are easily changed over, the screw connection is counter clockwise. Please advise the Property Manager that this has been changed so a replacement container can be organised.

Internet – broadband is freely available at the house, the network and the password details will be included in your welcome letter. Monthly limits apply but should be more than enough for any rental period. Usage can be monitored and additional capacity organised but this will involve an additional cost

Recycling/Waste:

Sacks for paper, cardboard and plastic recycling are available in the cupboard under the sink or in the utility room, recycling is collected alternate weeks. Your welcome letter will confirm what collections are due during your stay. There’s a small bin just by the back door to hold daily recycling and the collection bag can then be kept out of the way in the utility.

General waste (including food waste) should be bagged and placed in the bin outside the property, this is also collected alternate weeks. There’s a bin kept in the cupboard to the right of the sink area for general waste with black bags also in the cupboard under the sink.

Bottles should be separated from other waste and dropped off at the green bottle bin on the right on the road leading into Le Lindois travelling from the direction of Roussines.

Pool & Garden:

The pool will be inspected and cleaned each week during the summer, the Property Manager has organised for this to be carried out on each handover day (Saturday) so as to reduce the interruption to stays. If staying for two weeks or more then you will be advised of when interim cleaning will be arranged. This will take about an hour or so.

The pool filtration system requires a pump to be run for several hours a day, this is controlled on a timer and you should not have to alter settings.

When swimming is over for the day please cover the pool to retain its heat.

Should your party include children then please ensure that the gates to the pool area are securely closed (keys kept by kitchen door) when supervision is not available.

Pool towels are stored in the airing cupboard in the front downstairs bedroom, please use these in preference to the other towels placed in the bedrooms or bathrooms.

We would ask that you bring all cushions (these are stored in a cupboard under the stairs) and bean bags in at night.

There are plastic glasses, beakers and plates for outdoor use, these are stored in the cupboard next to the oven.

There are outdoor lights, switch to the left of the bottom pool of the water feature.

The water feature is currently out of action!!

Any concerns please contact the Property Manager.

Fosse Instructions:

A Fosse is a septic tank and all waste water from toilets, baths and sinks all goes into the fosse. This is very common in rural areas of France and most houses have a fosse. To ensure that there are no problems with blockages only human waste and toilet paper should go into the toilets. All sanitary products and nappies must be wrapped in plastic bags and put into the rubbish. All other tissues, face wipes etc. must also go into the normal rubbish. Please do not lift inspection covers found on patio and on the top bank. To support the extension an additional fosse has been installed in the main central area of the barn towards the rear of the building, please do not park any vehicles in this area.

Sundries:

The side door into the garden is tricky to shut so we suggest you consider using the other doors unless you get the knack!!

Instruction booklets for all appliances are in the kitchen drawer to the left of the hob.

Video tapes and dvds can be found in bookcases in the gallery and the cupboard under the front window downstairs, music dvds and music tapes are to be found in various drawers of the sideboard and/or cupboards. The machines are quite old and may need time to warm up. The Panasonic is most reliable and uses the hdmi cable.

Spare plug converters are in a box in the utility room as are batteries and candles, please only use if really necessary.

Should you want to light a fire then logs are found in the log store outside, fire lighters and matches are normally kept on a shelf in the utility room.

There are ice trays in the freezer in the utility room.

There are bikes and several helmets and various garden and pool equipment in the furthest barn, the keys to both the main doors and the smaller door are on the bunch kept in the keysafe and used to access the house. The bikes are mainly adult size and there are tools to alter seats and handlebars. Please check the operation of brakes and gears before use, tyre pressures can be increased with a variety of pumps but please understand that they are available to use at your own responsibility and risk. Should you find several bikes locked together the key (red) is kept on the bunch hanging by the rear kitchen door.

There is a small bbq kept outside the kitchen, if there is charcoal then it is stored in the far barn. Matches and firelighters normally kept on the shelves in the utility room.

Departure:

Once you have decided on your departure time (must be no later than 10am unless agreed otherwise) then could you please advise Tracy, the Property Manager, and that will enable her to plan the handover activities effectively.
